Maya L. Johnson

An American native residing in Turkey the past fifteen years with more than twelve years of freelance experience in the translation and English language industry in Turkey. Hundreds of successful projects completed in copy editing, proofreading, content writing, translation (Turkish-English), and ghostwriting. More than a thousand hours of tutoring/teaching experience in English Business / Academics, TOEFL/IELTS, and SAT Preparation over the last decade as well.

 

As an English freelance translator, I exclusively translate from Turkish into English, working with a partner for English to Turkish translation projects. Since 1998, I have worked on more than five hundred projects, with a total of one million words translated, edited, proofread, or written. Clientele includes both individuals and companies from different sectors located in Turkey, Cyprus, Europe, and the United States.

Working in partnership with a native Turkish translator to ensure the highest quality standards with a double average translation capacity. Areas of specialization include nonfiction, the social media ecosystem, marketing/promotional materials, and technical documentation, with a strong focus on the global Turkish market.

In addition to work with the English language, I am also an instructor of empowerment-based self-defense for women derived from experience as an instructor of Wing Chun Kung Fu and my previous martial arts experience. Offering workshops/seminars/courses for Women’s Self Defense.
